On August 17, 2010, Johnny Northside gave an ass-kissing to Minneapolis City Council Member, Don Samuels and in the post title John Hoff proclaimed him to be, "The Best Council Member EVER" The content of the post was to promote the fact that Samuels had announced his intention to "Take up issue of Sex Offender concentration."  Click here to read the ass kiss post by John Hoff.

Hoff gushed about Samuels in the post by saying,

"Council Member Don Samuels--a man blessed not only with intellect, but a graceful bigness of spirit in the face of constant mean-spirited, off-kilter critiques from certain quarters--appears to be responding to the enormous political buzz building around the issue of North Minneapolis sex offender concentration."

Hoff continued the mission by saying,

"right now Don Samuels is grabbing this issue by the horns"

Fast forward to this past week where John got some more "pay attention to me!" airtime when KARE-11 news showed John rambling on (and was bleeped for swearing) holding up a sign, complaining about more Level 3 Sex Offenders being dumped in North Minneapolis (yes, a sign even though he was sitting at a table amongst a small group of Megan Goodmundson-led protesters).

The Johnny Northside-led public outcry about sex offenders being dumped in North Minneapolis seems to be getting worse. Especially after Don Samuels decided to grab the issue "by the horns."
I am not sure what the "horns" were attached to but, if it involves Johnny Northside, the chances are good that the horns are attached to Johnny's mentor, Satan.

Jeff Skrene's was officially given a "pink slip" by the Minneapolis City Council. I would love to see a copy of his resume when he starts looking for a new job (if he already hasn't) to see what he lists as job duties with being the Hawthorne Housing Director. It doesn't take a lot of talent to point to an old, run down house that is falling apart and say to his former employers, "That one! Run that one over with a bulldozer!"

Let's take a little look at the two jobs Jeff had before his stint as "Jeff Skywalker" in Hawthorne...

I find it typical that Jeff rants about fraud and points his finger at everyone else, accusing them of being fraudsters considering his last job was with ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now). ACORN is a huge special interest group that turned out to be guilty of voter registration fraud and

Makes me wonder if Jedi Jeff will even list ACORN on his resume after working for those fraudsters.

 

Before ACORN, Jeff worked for US Bank as a mortgage originator. Investopedia defines that as: "An institution or individual that works with a borrower to complete a mortgage transaction."

Lenders! This country is in the biggest real estate crash in history mainly because, lenders issued bad loans. To put it another way, banks gave loans to people who had no business getting a mortgage, then they defaulted on the payments and the lender had to foreclose. The government keeps trying to bail the banks out of the mess they created and amazingly, the people who approved these bad loans are not in jail!

 

To Summarize Jeff's work history...

*Worked for US Bank who issued their share of bad loans

*Currently working for the Hawthorne Neighborhood & all the Johnny Northisde frauds that come with it

Minneapolis City Council Votes to Cut Hawthorne Neighborhood Funding & Jeff Skrenes

Jeff Skrenes aka the Hawthorne Hawkman, is facing the unemployment line. The Minneapolis City Council voted this week to cut neighborhood funding and that includes the Hawthorne Housing Director… Jeff Skrenes.


The cuts included giving pink slips to fire fighters and police officers but, three council members voted against the cuts. Surely Barb Johnson and Don Samuels who represent North Minneapolis voted against the cuts… Right?

Nope.

Barb & Don ignored the pleas of Jeff Skywalker and voted to make neighborhood funding go away. Jeff has been one of Samuels’ biggest supporters during his tenure so, it will be entertaining to watch the public display of displeasure Jeff and his pal, Johnny Northside unleash onto Samuels and the rest of the council now that they have effectively shown Jeff how much they appreciate his efforts to collect phone books, call 911, call 311 and blog continuously (even on company time) about the shit-hole they live in.

Johnny Northside Should be Charged with "Obstruction of Legal Process"

John Hoff aka Johnny Northside, has been on a tear in recent weeks. John and his blog, The Adventures of Johnny Northside has been named in a civil complaint that was filed by an individual who is listed as a Level 3 Registered Sex Offender.
The blog has been publishing the home addresses of the sex offenders in north Minneapolis as well as the home address of the property owners who allegedly rent the houses to the offenders. John has called these landlords the "slum of the slumlords."

Last week John managed to avoid two Sheriff's deputies who were sent to serve him legal papers. John has since bragged about his vanishing act in public on his blog as well as other websites.
His "super-citizen" girlfriend, Megan Goodmundson also played a part with helping John avoid being served by confronting the deputies and telling them that John would not come out to where they were waiting. John was attending a hearing held by the city council for the re-appointment of the Chief of Police.

John Hoff abused his so-called, media stauts to persuade a Mayor's aide to allow John to use another exit which would allow him to avoid being served. He lied to the aide about why he wanted to enter into the council member chambers. He has stated he wanted to speak with certain council members when his intention was to obstruct the legal process by not allowing Sheriff deputies to serve him.

My question is simple...
WHY is Don Samuels, Mayor Rybak, various police personelle, County employee's and many others tolerating this type of behavior from a "trash-talking" blogger who also happens to be delinquent with his property taxes for 2008 and 2009? Not to mention the unfinished code work for his house located at 2226 Bryant Ave North.
Why hasn't anyone or any agency held John Hoff accountable (as well as his girlfriend, Megan Goodmundson) for Obstruction of Legal Process?

Something out of... Something: Minneapolis Settles Law Suit Vs. SunTrust Mortgage.

In the comments section in the previous post, the first comment (Anonymous of course) claimed I am always trying to make "Something out of nothing" with regards to the city settling a law suit against SunTrust Mortgage. That suit stemmed from the trumped up law suit the city had filed against TJ Waconia where Mayor Rybak claimed, "This is personal."

A quick rundown on the FACTS: (don't worry, I always post links to back them up)

The city files a law suit against TJ Waconia to gain control over 140+ TJ Waconia owned properties. The city announces and the StarTribune's Steve Brandt report that the city won their case and that they were now in control of those properties.
OOOPS!!!

The city's attorneys who filed the suit never bothered to have a title search done to see who actually owned the houses. They merely went to the County site which still listed TJ Waconia as the owners but, all of the houses had already been foreclosed and were owned by SunTrust Mortgage.
The blatant mistake the attorneys made was that they didn't bother to inform SunTrust of the suit. Why? Well had they done that, they would not have been able to have Rybak do the bullshit press conference to announce the law suit.

SunTrust countered the law suit and the city was caught red-handed. They SCREWED UP! Where was the press conference to tell the public that they were wrong?

So, here is the details to the settlement or what the city had to do to buy their way out of the mess that they got themselves into with SunTrust Mortgage. Note that TJ Waconia is no where to be found in the settlement because... They were not involved at that point.
I sure hope that anonymous commenter comes back to question this proof but, just like John Hoff a.k.a. Johnny Northside would say, "Do as I say, NOT as I do."

Lilligren moved to approve partial settlement of the case of City of Minneapolis, et al. v. T.J. Waconia, et al., Hennepin County Court File No. 27-CV-08-7880 by approving settlement of claims against SunTrust Mortgage, Inc. (“SunTrust”) according to terms that substantially comply with the following:

A. SunTrust, shall agree to sell to the Greater Metropolitan Housing Corporation 48 real properties either held or serviced by SunTrust (“GMHC”) that are subject to the jurisdiction of the Hennepin County District Court or the Court-appointed administrator.

B. That SunTrust will sell 30 certain listed properties at its list price less ten percent discount.
C. That SunTrust has three properties under contract with third parties. In the event those sales do not occur SunTrust will sell to GMHC at ten percent off list price.

D. That SunTrust will sell 15 certain properties when they become available for sale at their list price less twelve percent.

E. That SunTrust shall make a payment of $75,000.00 to the City of Minneapolis; $50,000.00 to be payable to the Housing Maintenance Code Revolving Repair Fund for Tenant Remedies Actions; and, $25,000.00 to be applied toward the Inspection Division for pending or levied special assessments.

F. That SunTrust will agree to dismiss any appeals it has in the above-captioned lawsuit; that Plaintiffs will dismiss their claims against SunTrust but the District Court shall return jurisdiction over certain properties for the sole purpose of ensuring that certain properties not be sold to GMHC shall be remediated of existing code violations prior to sale.
G. That Plaintiffs shall release any notices of lis pendens that were filed in the lawsuit relating to properties owned or serviced by SunTrust.
H. That the City Attorney is further authorized to execute any documents necessary to effectuate the settlement.
I. That the proper City officials are authorized to waive any pending or levied special assessments on properties owned or serviced by SunTrust that are purchased by GMHC. Seconded.

Question for the Hawthorne Hawkman

Note: The end of this post has been updated. An anonymous commenter on the JNS blog asked Jeff if he had seen this post. On the JNS blog, Jeff Skrenes a.k.a. the Hawthorne Hawkman made it a point to highlight the applause that was given in response to the principal owners of TJ Waconia being in prison (even though the story is well past yesterday's news).

So the Mis-Adventures of Johnny Northside is reaching out to Jeff personally to answer the following (or at least offer an opinion).

The city council did such an amazing job of taking a stand against fraud as it has been reported in the case of TJ Waconia. The city filed a civil suit that was announced by Mayor Rybak and a few No-Mi neighborhoods joined that lawsuit as well (Hawthorne was not among them).
1) Can you comment on why the Hawthorne neighborhood did not join in that suit?
2) Can you offer an opinion on how the buyout the city agreed to with SunTrust Mortgage has had an impact on No-Mi?
Note: As part of the settlement between the city and SunTrust, the city bought a slew of properties from SunTrust's REO department that were previously owned by TJ Waconia for a mere 10 to 12% discount. The suit was dismissed soon after. TJ Waconia was not the focus of the suit soon after it was filed because, SunTrust Mortgage was not notified of the law suit prior to it being filed and announced. The significance of that was that SunTrust was actually the legal owners of most of the properties included in the suit as TJ Waconia had already lost them to foreclosure. SunTrust countered the law suit and the city ended up buying many of the houses from SunTrust because of it. It is undetermined how much money the city wasted by pursuing the civil suit and having to buy houses when a simple title search would have disclosed that SunTrust owned the houses and did not need to be put under city control as was reported.

It would be interesting to hear the housing director's take on this as he can see first hand at what impact the neighborhoods have had as a result of the city controlling so many houses (as a result of having to over pay for them, costing the taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars if not more).
I hope Jeff will respond as this blog does not pick and choose which comments to allow. His comments are not only allowed but, welcomed.

The Hawthorne Hawkman said... @ anon 1:34 - I read that post now, thanks. I will not respond on that particular site because it is entirely dedicated to smearing the name of a good friend and neighborhood advocate. The article posed two questions to me: why wasn't Hawthorne involved in the TJ Waconia suit, and then a second, very technical question.
Hawthorne was not involved in the TJ Waconia lawsuit because there were only a small handful of TJ Waconia properties in the Hawthorne neighborhood. That doesn't mean we weren't affected at all by Helgason's and Balko's fraud; only that the staff and volunteer resources that would have been used up if we'd been a plaintiff would not have brought the neighborhood a large enough return on that investment of time and energy. Plus, as demonstrated by the convictions, the city and the neighborhoods primarily affected clearly didn't need our help on this one.

As for the second question, since I was not involved directly, I will not venture into that territory. Mr. Watkins can ask any of the plaintiffs about that directly if he so chooses, or someone can post an answer here or on another blog.

Jeff: First, let me thank you for answering (even though it was not directly on here.
Second, I would be thrilled to ask the 2nd question I posted directly to some of the Plaintiffs as you suggested (I have asked a handful already but, there has been no reply). Which site or forum would be the most appropriate place to ask the question? On a side note, I am wanting to know the answer to that question as it does go way beyond TJ Waconia and the mis-handling of that case. The fact that you did give a response to the question leads me to believe that you agree (at least somewhat) that the events that took place in that case, could very well have a significant effect with the neighborhoods and residents of No-Mi.

Johnny Northside Takes a Seat... To High Court!

Minneapolis City Councilman Don Samuels, may want to know what kind of ultra-liberal, nut-case he has in John Hoff and him kissing his ass all over the Internet and on his blog, The Adventures of Johnny Northside. Posted below is a copy of the court ruling in the case of the City of Seattle v. Hoff. It is just a matter of time before John gets irked at the city council and goes to court over something so stupid as the case below.
At least I don't have to worry about John Hoff of North Minneapolis, pulling a double standard on me like Don Samuels does.

“SEATTLE SITTING ORDINANCE” UPHELD AGAINST CONSTITUTIONAL ATTACK -- In City of Seattle v. McConahy, City of Seattle v. Hoff, 86 Wn. App. 557 (Div. I, 1997), the Court of Appeals upholds the constitutionality of the “Seattle sitting ordinance.” Under that ordinance, it is a civil infraction for any person to sit or lie on the sidewalk in downtown Seattle and other neighborhood commercial zones between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. except in an emergency, or if he or she is in a wheelchair or on a bench or in a bus zone or patronizing a commercial establishment or attending a permitted event.


The facts in the two cases on review are described by the Court of Appeals as follows:

McConahy was cited while sitting on a street bulb with a group of friends, eating pizza, watching her friends play chess for change, and sometimes panhandling. Police officers approached the group and informed them that they were violating the ordinance. Her friends stood, but McConahy remained seated protesting the ordinance. McConahy wore an army jacket decorated with an American flag and a slogan that said, "Fuck your American dream." She also wore a button that said, "Sitting is not a crime." Hoff was cited while sitting reading a book and leaning against a building with leaflets advertising a protest against the ordinance in his lap. They had separate trials in municipal court. The Hoff court heard testimony and allowed extensive argument on his constitutional claims, and the McConahy court accepted much of this record. Both courts found that the defendants violated the ordinance and rejected their free expression and substantive due process claims.

The Court of Appeals rejects the defendants’ varied constitutional challenges to the sitting ordinance. However, the Court of Appeals warns that its ruling in this case is limited:
While we decline to invalidate the ordinance in this case, we wish to make clear what we are not deciding. First, we express no opinion about whether the ordinance is or is not good social policy. We hold only that the ordinance is constitutionally valid legislation. SMC 15.48.040 is quintessential legislative policy making, and we will not disturb the policy decisions made by legislative bodies unless they are unconstitutional or conflict with state law. We also hold that the City did not violate appellants' right to free expression because Hoff and McConahy were not involved in expressive activity when they were cited. But we do not decide whether, on different facts involving a protected activity or speech, SMC 15.48.040 would be a valid time, place, manner restriction. We also do not decide whether homeless residents could establish the requisite disparate impact to invoke the protection of the Privileges and Immunities Clause because these appellants have not done so.
Result: Affirmance of Seattle Municipal Court convictions for Sarah McConahy and John Hoff under sitting ordinance.

TJ Waconia: Minneapolis City Council paid HOW MUCH???

The City Settled Again for HOW MUCH??

The City of Minneapolis held a big press conference to announce a civil suit by going after TJ Waconia and then announce that they won! They told the public that they gained control of TJ Waconia's properties but... OOPS! TJ Waconia no longer owned those properties. SunTrust Mortgage owned them and the city failed to notify them of their lawsuit that they claim to have won. OOPS!
Enter SunTrust Mortgage.
Judge rules in favor of SunTrust but, the city didn't bother to tell the public. Why should they? They didn't bother to tell SunTrust about the lawsuit.
Finally, the city settles with SunTrust. The city buys a bunch of properties owned by SunTrust at a whopping 10% discount!
So... The city screws up. The city ends up buying SunTrusts' bad debt and neglects to tell the public!

Oooh! This hurts all the way around!

The Minneapolis City Council had their case against TJ Waconia dismissed but, it sure cost the tax-payers... A LOT!

HOW much did that lawsuit and settlement (yes, settlement) cost the citizens of Minneapolis? We are still adding up all the "sale prices" the city paid SunTrust Mortgage in the wake of the TJ Waconia fiasco.
Looks like Don Samuels, Barbara Johnson and Mayor R.T. Rybak will have the voters to answer to this time! As R.T. said last year at the press conference that announced the city's suit against TJ Waconia (that was DISMISSED), "This time its personal."

You bet it is!

Now... HOW MUCH did the city pay SunTrust Mortgage to settle???

Bogus Lawsuit Against TJ Waconia: DISMISSED!

As a defender of TJ Waconia and knowing first-hand that the entire case was nothing more than a cruel stunt by the Minneapolis City Council (Barbara Johnson and Don Samuels) to grandstand on the publicity that was focused on TJ Waconia. The civil suit made the headlines and even Mayor R.T. Rybak got his share of publicity from the deal. They claimed they won when they gained control of the 160 TJ Waconia properties and were hard at work with the houses. The only problem is, TJ Waconia no longer owned those properties. SunTrust Mortgage did and they were not happy about NOT BEING NOTIFIED of the BS lawsuit the city had filed against TJ Waconia. The city's attorneys never bothered to do a proper title search on those houses because, that would simply cost too much money. Instead, they utilized the out-dated Hennepin County website that had not updated the database to say that TJ Waconia no longer owned the houses.
OOOPS!
How much money did THAT cost the taxpayers?

Any member of the media or candidates running for City Council or Mayor of Minneapolis, I offer you the following:
I have copies of the intervention SunTrust Mortgage filed against the City of Minneapolis which clearly details (.pdf file format) how the laywers for the Plaintiffs acted and proceeded without doing proper research and the result of which has cost the taxpayers of Minneapolis hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees.
I am happy to share all documents and files related to this case with you. All documents were sent to me by one of the principal owners of TJ Waconia.

Johhny Northside: Not Exactly Accurate (Again)

There will be some kind of future post about this, but behind the scenes right now Jim Watkins--self proclaimed best friend of T.J. Waconia fraudster Thomas Balko--has been trying to stir up sympathy for his incarcerated friend. Since the MPLS Mirror printed Jim Watkins' other dribble about TJ Waconia, it wouldn't surprise me if the contact is ongoing.

I'm troubled by the fact the mug shots for a number of mortgage fraudsters--Thomas Balko, Donald Walthall, Marlon Pratt, Larry Maxwell--aren't appearing on the Department of Corrections website. We need to see what these jailbirds look like and know their whereabouts. I sent an email to DOC but haven't heard back.

It looks like John is making good on his threat to go after me in public. That conversation was recorded. Listen to it HERE.

As for the mugshots and their whereabouts... There is a good reason he can't find them and I find it very funny that he can't figure out why. Perhaps if he wasn't an "800 pound Gorilla" with an equal mental capacity, he would have discovered why he has led himself on a pointless mission.
I am happy to announce that Johnny has convinced me how wonderful public information can be. My next post will include a few facts about Johnny that is available to anyone online!

The People Vs. Johnny Northside - You Decide

One thing I have learned about myself over the past three years is that I will go out of my way to help and stand by a friend. I knew that in doing so, the attack dogs would be sent after me and they have. The biggest of those attack dogs has actually turned out to be a gorilla. An "800 Pound Gorilla" to be exact.

My encounters with the 800 pound gorilla was mostly in defense of my friend. When the events surrounding my friend came to a close, I kept an eye on the 800PG (Pound Gorilla) and saw that it went about attacking others as it had with me, using tactics such as bullying, force and threats, etc..

This 800PG has a goal... A Vision and, a history of using Mafia-like tactics to get what it wants and God help you if you dare cross this 800PG!

Another thing I have learned in the past three years is how to C.Y.A.

In this world we live in, there are simply too many people who will lie, cheat and go to extremes to either get themselves out of trouble or to get someone else in trouble. I was forced to stand by and watch as my friend was crucified by the media, individuals, politicians and.... An 800 Pound Gorilla!

It didn't take me long to realize that it would be a no-win situation every time I went against the 800PG due to the fact that it didn't play by the rules. What is worse is the 800PG broke the rules and made new ones up as it continued on its quest for "Dominance."

C.Y.A. folks.

Always, always COVER YOUR ASS! You never know when you might need proof that an 800 Pound Gorilla named John Hoff, will attack you. CYA for me means recording phone calls, taking screen shots of web sites to document information before it is deleted, video recording encounters and saving emails are all things that I have done in order to protect myself and warn others about this savage... Monkey. These things will be posted here for the public to decide for themselves.

I am no expert on Primates but, I have taken note of a few of their characteristics. The first is obvious. Gorillas have incredible physical strength. Others are that they are territorial and they appear to have an attitude of "open up a can of whoop-ass, then we can talk."

The one that stands out in my mind is the fact that while they are a force that are not to be taken lightly, they are after all, a primate. A gorilla. A Monkey and they are not the smartest animals on the face of the earth. At least not when compared to humans. The 800 Pound Gorilla has been tearing through people on its quest to be Johnny Northside while I have been covering my ass, waiting for the time to let the people know that a gorilla lurks in N Minneapolis. The good news is that common sense and logical thinking (along with CYA) are the tools that are needed to cast this monkey out of its territory where it will need to find another place to be its stomping ground. North Dakota and Seattle has already dealt with this gorilla so, it won't be going to either of those places.

This post marks the first of many to come in my quest. My quest to offer the public honest proof of the fact that there is a brutal, viscous 800 Pound Gorilla on the rampage in North Minneapolis and it is disguised as a fellow named John Hoff, otherwise known as Johnny Northside.

We need to have some fun along the way as well. So, I have some stuff that will poke fun at the monkey for our entertainment.
