Blogger Hoff Sells House in North Minneapolis, Next Stop? El Paso, Texas

It has been a while since I have posted to this blog. I thought of just letting it drift off into the depths of Internet blogs without adding any new content but, I am a person who keeps his word.
Years ago, John Hoff wanted this blog deleted and I refused. His response was a blunt threat... Delete the blog or he will "first amendment retaliate" against me.
It was at that time, I told John that due to his relentless attacks against me, my former friend and many other people he had been attacking via his blog, that I will never let up on him. I will not let all of his misdeeds be forgotten. I will see to it that his past will remain with him no matter where he ends up in the future.

Hoff stated on his blog that he will remain in his house in North Minneapolis, forever. He was making it his permanent home after he has literally bounced all around the country during his adult life. Fast forward to 2017 and now 2018, Hoff once again, did not keep his word... No surprise there because, he has never shown himself to be a trustworthy person.

To the residents of North Minneapolis, you can rest easy because, John Hoff has sold his house on Bryant Ave. North. According to the county records, Hoff sold it for a nice profit after he bought it in the biggest real estate crash Minneapolis had ever seen. Imagine that! Hoff started his blog using real estate fraud as his motivation for his self-credited crusade against fraudsters. Here we are 10 years later and Hoff has profited nicely. Typical Hoff: Bash them when its popular & profit off them later.

So, now that he has sold his house in North Minneapolis, what do we know about where he is or where he is going?
We know he won't be going to Oklahoma to be a lawyer. Even though he passed the Bar Exam, the OK Board of Bar Examiners denied his application after a 2-day hearing was held over his moral character and fitness. They determined that things that he had done in the past are not acceptable for someone wanting to become a lawyer. Naturally Hoff attempted to appeal the ruling but, his argument was ruled as moot. With his tail tucked between his legs, Hoff went back to Minnesota and in October of 2017, he sold his house. So much for forever.

Just the other day, Hoff's name popped up in an editorial piece for the El Paso Times. Here is the link to the article and Hoff's portion. Hoff wrote:

Maybe a dog, hawk or chupacabra is to blame in rabbit’s death

I am a former resident of El Paso from my regular Army days, thinking of retiring in the Sun City, and so I read the El Paso Times every day. The article by Aaron Martinez about the horrible bunny beheading described a terrible event, but I have to ask ... are we quite certain the act was committed by a human being?
In the early 1990s, my then-wife and I witnessed a pack of feral dogs snatch a rabbit from our enclosed porch area on Festival Drive. I will spare you the gory details, but the rabbit, named Bipper Bunny, did not survive the incident. She is buried beneath a mesquite tree near the apartment complex where we used to live. I visited the grave, such as it was, a couple of years ago with our teenage son, Alex.
You would think it would be hard for a big dog to get into a tiny enclosed porch, snatch a live rabbit, and immediately get back out with the rabbit in its mouth, but that hungry dog was MOTIVATED.
Based on that experience, I just have to wonder if some other critter — dog, hawk, roadrunner or the legendary chupacabra — might actually be responsible for this incident?
In any case, condolences to the owner of the rabbit. I hope you will find a new pet who needs your love and care.

Now that John's son is in college and doing well, he appears to have been spending some time in El Paso, Texas. What would lure him back to the city where he lived when his marriage began to crumble? Could he be trying to re-kindle the flames of a long lost love interest? Wait! Love interest? He was married when he lived in El Paso. Did Hoff stray from his then wife and have a fling on the side? Did his ex-wife find out about his infidelity and head for Seattle? We may never know for sure but, it looks like for the time being, Hoff has been spending time in El Paso... Much to the delight of the residents of NoMi.

Blogger John Hoff Shows Compassion

Forgive me for the title of this post as it was meant in sarcasm. It would appear that Hoff aka Johnny Northside has been glorifying himself on both his blog as well as on the Facebook page, NorthTalk by claiming awareness to a current law would feed millio... Read what he said on his site for yourself.

"A law that languishes in obscurity could feed our nation and save millions of tons of food, if only the law were promoted and publicized."

Yes Sir! Could it be possible that North Minneapolis' top Bully Blogger and scavenger dumpster diver is turning over a new leaf in his life and putting his extensive, student loan paid education (loans not repaid yet) to good use? Better yet, using it to help save our nation and have no time for using his blog for his personal attacks against those who dare challenge him as he has with attorney Jill Clark and his 58+ posts about her?
To that I say, You can take John Hoff out of the dumpster but, you can't take the dumpster out of Hoff. It is in his blood to attack and stalk others while nearly begging to gain supporters for his actions. Wait! That isn't right. Hoff insists that "I" (Jim Watkins) am the stalker.

NoMi Visit Proves To Be Un-Eventful and Tall Tale For Blogger Johnny Northside

In October of 2012, John Hoff wrote a scathing article about me, Jim Watkins (called the “anti Johnny” by Hoff) on his blog, consisting of mostly fiction and/or misrepresenting what really happened. I will warn the readers ahead of time that this post won’t contain any juicy details of the events that really took place because the entire encounter was rather quick and uneventful. True to his style of “stirring up shit” and trying to make something out of nothing, Hoff’s post itself ended up being more entertaining than the encounter itself.

Happy 2013 to all the readers of the Mis-Adventures blog!
The last few months of 2012 were busy ones for me and I didn't post much on this blog as a result. However, that is not saying there was nothing John Hoff-related to post. Hoff was plenty busy keeping up with his attacks against me both on his blog as well as other sites on the Internet. In the coming weeks I will be addressing some of them and ignoring the rest as they tend to be both non-sense and/or repetitive.
I will also be posting my long-overdue response to Hoff's post, "Afraid To Visit North Minneapolis Himself, Evil Anti-Johnny Sends "Proxy Fraidy Cat" To This Blogger's House, Chapter Three Of The Evil Anti-Johnny Book Of Revelations.." 
Consider it the other side to the story if you like but, as I will explain, about the only story involved was the above mentioned post on Hoff's blog and how he came up with such a crazy, far-fetched and some of it simply un-true analysis of the otherwise un-eventful encounter.

The headline of this post shows "Bastard Child Of A Blog" and "Brief Amusement" in quotations and the credit for them goes to John Hoff AKA Johnny Northside himself.
The Mis-Adventures of Johnny Northside blog began back in August of 2008 and within days of its birth, Hoff posted his response/opinion to it on his blog. Here is the link to that post... Hoff on the Mis-Adventures of Johnny Northside. In that post, Hoff first referred to me as the "Anti Johnny" and called this blog a "Bastard Child Of A Blog" and "Brief Amusement". Here we are in 2013, over five years since it first appeared online and I can say that John Hoff was mistaken. He was mistaken because, the Mis-Adventures has been alive and well since and is only five months younger than his "long running" blog, The Adventures of Johnny Northside.
This is only my opinion but, with all the content this blog has brought to the public about Hoff and what is soon to come... This blog has been anything but, a "brief amusement" to John Hoff.

First Amendment V. John Hoff. Review Of "Dumpster Diving" And Who Johnny Northside Really Is. Part 2

...Only Hoff attacks unprovoked

Today's review covers the third chapter, "Advanced Dumpster Based Media Manipulation" in John Hoff's book, "Dumpster Diving, The Advanced Course."

As I was reading this chapter, I kept shaking my head and thinking to myself, 'He's serious!' 

Yes, he was serious and I know it to be true because, since he wrote the book in 2002, he has done many of the things he explained in the book in his every day life, mostly on his blog. (when I say "things" a better term might be 'criminal manipulations')

On page 21, he compared media manipulation to blackjack with this statement...

"Media manipulation is like a blackjack table where you play with free chips, chips that you can cash in for real value. The only risk is to a person's credibility if he/she just gets too damned excited about a piece of nothing."

 On page 22, he made another statement that I found to be typical of Johnny Northside in a hypocritical way because, when someone comments on his blog about something that is not current, he lashes out against them and brushes their comment aside by stating that "its old" and "nobody cares anymore." Here is what the dumpster diver said...

"There's a saying in journalism that may be the wind at your back or the fart in your face: Old shit doesn't stink unless you stir it up.' "

All I can say to that is... My, how charming.
Of course we all know that John is an "activist" as he has stated so many times. The following two images are photos taken of the text in the book from page 22. A "Tight shot of my ass???" "Unable to resist his animated face???" Wow! I bet the people at the StarTribune must run towards the bathroom every time they see their "little Nielsen Week Slut Boy" come across the Caller ID. This is only my opinion but, "slut boy" would not be how I would describe John Hoff. I think the term "Attention whore" is much more accurate.
This next image shows that John takes credit given to himself for accomplishing what he said in the quotes above.

Good God! I think this guy has seen one too many James Bond movies and has molded himself after all of Bonds' crazy, psychopathic, bad guy mastermind enemies.
For the readers who don't know this but, John Hoff has a law degree. He is NOT an attorney (my guess is because he knows he can't get licensed for free and that he would be held to strict ethical standards) but, he loves to portray himself on his blog as a superior legal scholar.  This next quote from his book he does the same thing.

In the next two quotes, John goes into detail about how to utilize the Internet to attract the print media to help set off a "publicity firestorm." Somehow I just can't convince myself that the first amendment was created to protect people like John Hoff.

My review of chapter 3 of John "Dr. Evil" Hoff's book closes with two more quotes of his that really speak for themselves. I say that mostly because, no sane, law abiding, sensible person would likely ever think of something like these quotes and if they did think them, I would guess that their common sense would see to it that they never SAY them.

"You can change the whole world. All you need is a little luck, and this is a game you can play for free, baby. You are holding the butterfly of chaos in your hands, and you can feel the flutter of wings that will unleash hurricanes"

"Butterfly of chaos?" Really? I might compare him to maybe the 'fruit fly of the kitchen' or the 'gnat of annoyance' but, its HIS quote so, I just hope I don't find myself thinking of Hoff the next time I see a peaceful butterfly.

I wonder what his current government buddies like Don Samuels, Mayor Rybak and Barb Johnson will think when they see this quote? It is kind of ironic in a way with John saying, "it is vital to the" yada yada yada "that corporate and government evil be exposed" because, exposing John Hoff aka Johnny Northside the "Activist" is exaxtly the function of this blog.

"First Amendment" Versus "Dumpster Diving -The Advanced Course" Author John Hoff. A Chilling, In-Depth Look At Who Johnny Northside Really Is! Part 1

I am REALLY excited to be able to write this series of reviews of the book, Dumpster Diving- The Advanced Course. The book was written by John Hoff (he used his "pen" name Hoffman rather than his own name) who is also a Minneapolis "activist" who is no stranger to controversy. For those not familiar with his current antics, you can read about the lawsuit he recently appealed Click here for StarTribune after a jury determined in March 2011, that he used intimidation & threats of a negative publicity campaign with his blog, The Adventures of Johnny Northside to get one of his enemies fired. The jury awarded the Plaintiff $60,000 in damages but, what these reviews of what he wrote in this book will show is that he is nothing but a world class cyberbully continues to clutch onto the First Amendment as his justification for what he says. As usual I will show the facts and proof of what I write about Hoff and let the readers judge for themselves.

I bought (yes, bought) a copy of his book and had it with me when I was in Minneapolis in the spring of 2009. I met John for lunch after he extended the invitation and I asked him to sign my copy of his book. The picture below is what John wrote on the inside cover.

John calls me (Jim Watkins) "the Anti-Johnny" here. This is where the nick name came from.

The John Hoff who is currently claiming to be a neighborhood activist intent on turning his north Minneapolis neighborhood into an "urban utopia" does his best to convince the public and the media as well that he represents all that is good, stands up against criminals and sex offenders and constantly makes it known that he has a close, personal relationship with the Minneapolis Police, local media and many local politicians, including city councilman Don Samuels. In other words, Hoff knows who he needs to manipulate and in a way, hide behind as he continues hius quest for fame and headlines. However, everything he does is all part of a well thought out, calculated plan and these reviews will include quotes from John that detail what he has done and will do again to anyone who he feels might stand in his path to urban utopia.

The title of chapter 2 in his book is called, "The Master Key To Successful Diving."
The chapter details the events leading up to and after he stumbled upon a "master key" to the padlocks that locked the majority of the trash dumpsters in Seattle, Washington after he moved there in 1994. His admission of how he could use that key against anyone he pleased, is enough to chill just about anyone's blood. Here are some segments from that chapter.

After finding the key, Hoff went to show it to a friend whom he called, "Bicycle Bill" and told Bill that they should make copies of it and give one to "everybody." His friend then said,

"They could come down on us hard. This is criminal shit. You are actually opening a lock with a key that is not yours."
This is what Hoff then wrote... "Yeah, Yeah" I muttered, waving him off. I just wanted to figure out how many corporations I could fuck in the shortest span of time possible. I wanted to unleashall the power of the key at once.

A few paragraphs later, he said...

I agree. I have to know exactly how much chaos this thing can unleash before I unleash it. So I can unleash it in he best way possible. This key might very well open up the entire city of Seattle.

Hoff then explains how people reading his book can go about getting a master dumpster key of their own.  Rather than taking the added time to type the next few quotes, I just took pictures of the actual page from the book. Forgive the yellow highlighter marks but, I had to remember somehow.

But Hoff wouldn't do that himself... Unless

A word of warning to anyone or any company in Minneapolis: If you hire John Hoff, make sure you have a video camera recording his every move and that he does not have access to any sort of sensitive materials. Wait, he would steal a paper clip and call it liberating it so, maybe have him escorted at all times. Or wait, you could simply NOT HIRE HIM!

He continues on with his self promoting and has a very arrogant attitude about the effect his first book had with the FBI and take note what the last part says!

Thats right, if you don't do as he says... He will merely find dirt on you and threaten you

Let me set the context of this quote. John said he...
 had seized "Controlled narcotics keys." from a drug-impared nurse then threatened (this must be where John learned how to do this) in her manipulative substance abuser way - to frame me for the theft of Avitan. With Satan speaking through her mouth, trying to get to the root of my innermost fears and doubts, she said... 

"John, everybody knows how street smart you are. How you find stuff in people's trash and sell it for money. What if I confessed I was stealing Ativan and you were selling it? But that you are street smart that you sell drugs without using drugs, which is why you never get caught." 

(I swear that sounds JUST like what he does to others)

The bullying, self centered way that John Hoff replied is very common to people who challenge him on his blog and attitudes like this is exactly why he was sued and LOST and now has a $60,000 judgement against him (here's hoping the judges uphold the conviction). Pay attention to what he is actually saying. 

Now I can't say for certain that John really "meant" what he said in the last quote but, based off of things he has said on his blog and others as a comparison, I think he definitely believes it.

Megan Goodmundson: Another Day... Another Judgement

This post is to be continued but, I wanted to get the information out to the masses about Megan's latest mis-deed.
On October 20, 2011, the conciliation court in Hennepin County entered a judgement against Megan Goodmundson in the amount of $2,164.44, payable to the Plaintiff, Mitchell Construction.

Stay tuned for the PDF image of the latest court loss for Megan Goodmundson "the super citizen," girlfriend to John Hoff aka Johnny Northside. How she manages to stay in the good graces of the public and the JACC board is a total mystery. This is the same Megan Goodmundson who was previously arrested for assault and the same person who bilked her lender out of more than $100,000 after she lost her house to foreclosure only to have her parents come in after the redemption period and buy it back from the bank for a mere $32,000!

Northside Activists Hoff & Goodmundson: Breaking the Rules... And Laws (Stay Tuned)

It has been a little quiet lately in north Minneapolis and much of that is because, Johnny Northside aka John Hoff has not been paying much attention to his blog, The Adventures of Johnny Northside or his beloved north Minneapolis. Note: That is the same blog that made headlines in March when John Hoff made history by LOSING in court to Jerry Moore which resulted in the jury slapping Hoff with a Judgement of SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS!  Now THAT is what I call a 60,000-time loser!

There is a good reason why John has not been paying much attention to NoMi or his blog. The faithful readers of the Mis-Adventures of Johnny Northside have not forgotten about Hoff just yet as one reader has provided us with the reason and the proof of why John has been soooo distant. The next post will provide the public with that information and the proof to back it up.
Oh, I almost forgot... The very same information about John also happens to uncover some wrong-doing by Hoff in the process! If the city doesn't want to hold him accountable, or his city council buddies... It is only fair that the public knows about the special treatment he is getting while they have to pay.

We can't forget about No-Mi's number one "Super Citizen" and Hoff's girlfriend, Megan Goodmundson!
This blog, with the help of the Jordan Hawkman, uncovered the super-shady deal involving Megan's house on Newton Ave N. where she screwed the lender out of more than $100,000 when she let it go back to them in a foreclosure. The shady part was when Megan's parents swooped into town from Virginia and bought the house from the lender for a mere $32,000 while Megan had owed the bank around $160,000. We wonder if the bank knew the buyers just happened to be Megan's parents?

Back to the point though. Megan has made herself out to be some sort of modern day savior for north Minneapolis and after she  hooked up with Johnny Northside, he bragged about her on his blog and called her the "Super Citizen."
The Jordan Hawkman also found a few of her Judgements that are filed with the courts that her former credit card companies filed against her after she let the cards charge-off.
Well in an upcoming post, we will be posting the beautiful truth about one more side of Megan Goodmundson that I am sure she had hoped would never be discovered. Why would she worry about anything in her past coming back to haunt her? Afterall, you don't get to be a Super Citizen unless you stayed out of trouble. She volunteered to manage City Councilman Don Samuels election campaign a few years ago and surely, Don Samuels wouldn't ever let someone with a checkered past take on such an important role in the campaign.... Right?
It's the "Smoking Gun" that Megan will finally get to answer for. If she refuses to acknowledge questions this time as she always has, that is okay because, the "smoking gun" that was sent to the Mis-Adventures of Johnny Northside, will speak for itself just fine.

Where is Johnny Northside When Really Needed?

 The most vocal, most self-promoting, attention hungry and self-proclaimed "Northside Revitalizer", John Hoff aka Johnny Northside is nowhere to be found. In fact, it would appear that a lot of residents of North Minneapolis have also been missing, according to the StarTribune and KARE11.

The story published on June 21, 2011, is more of a plea to the public to volunteer for operation "Clean Sweep" which is to help with the clean up efforts in areas hit by last month's tornado. Did I mention that the tornado was LAST MONTH?

A friend of mine posted the link on her FaceBook wall and then commented about the clean up efforts in St. Anthony after a tornado hit there in 1984. I was in 7th grade at St Anthony Middle School at that time and recall how much damage that tornado caused. Apache Plaza had just been given a facelift and was never able to really recover after being in the path of that tornado.
I remember walking around outside just minutes after the storm passed and saw residents everywhere, asking if everyone was ok or if anyone needed anything. In the days that followed, virtually everyone who lived in the path the tornado took and others who lived close by, was outside working on cleaning up the debris and trash caused by the storm. Within a week, residents and volunteers had everything cleaned up yet North Minneapolis is having to recruit volunteers from elsewhere because, not enough NoMi residents have come out to help their own neighborhood.

I know there have been a lot of residents of North Minneapolis who have been out helping with the efforts on a daily basis and this post is not directed at them.
The author of this blog as well as many of its readers would like to know, "Where IS Johnny Northside?" Not only has Johnny not been spotted in or around No-Mi but, his blog has seen only three total posts thus far in the month of June.

Perhaps sometime and maybe sooner than later, the people who support or deal with JNS will start to see what this blog has said since it was started... Johnny Northside aka John Hoff, cares only about John Hoff and the attention he can bring himself using anyone or anything along the way.

When Will Minneapolis People Wise Up To John Hoff a.k.a. Johnny Northside?

This blog is now over one year old and there is no plans to go away. Past posts have listed links, info, court records, pictures, audio and direct quotes of John Hoff. All of them paint a picture of a selfish, egotistical, defiant person who shows a blatant disregard for anything or anyone that conflicts with his opinions.
Anyone who challenges him face public scrutiny and often times, humiliation if John can find any information on the person as he exploits them online. He claims it is his right under the Constitution to do so.

His blog has made him a local celebrity in north Minneapolis (NoMi) and all it has done is driven him to push the limits of what he can get away with.
Recently, he crawled across a frozen lake to take pictures of Jon Helgason's house of TJ Waconia. He claimed it was his house even though the tax records show it is owned by an LLC. Neighbors witnessed him snooping around the house and notified the owner. (Check back soon for a full post dedicated to this topic.)

John continually posts articles on his blog without verifying the validity or accuracy of his opinions or statements he claims are fact.
Have a look at what was written just days ago about him disrupting a recent hearing about an unsecured house in the neighborhood...

"Other community members used harsher language. John Hoff, (otherwise known as Johnny Northside) was at first asked to leave the meeting for videotaping, but he ignored that request. Later, Hoff spoke , and said that people were telling "big fat lies." Hoff called for a criminal report. "The corbels were smashed!" Hoff said. "Pauline's trunk was smashed." After pronouncing a swear word, Hoff was again asked to leave, and this time he did, shouting "Pauline's House will be a rallying cry for preservationists everywhere!""

Another website had a post from Jeff Skrenes who is the Hawthorne Neighborhood Housing Director and call himself the "Hawthorne Hawkman. Jeff is a personal friend of Hoff and is able to post articles on Hoff's blog, The Adventures of Johnny Northside.
Here is part of what Jeff posted on the matter.

"But it was John Hoff who made statements and was asked to leave.
I pretty much agreed with his statements, for the record, and my only issue was
that he blurred the line between himself as a media source and an activist."

The reason the last sentence was highlighted is because, John Hoff is currently being sued for comments made on his blog about an individual who was fired after Hoff slammed him on his blog. Hoff stands behind opinion that it is freedom of the press and therefore he can say what he wishes.

Make no mistake about John Hoff, better known as Johnny Northside. He is no journalist. John is nothing more than a trash talking, self serving extremist and activist. Check out some of his quotes on the net from one of his TWO books he authored on the topic of Dumpster Diving (Note: Published under his pen name of John Hoffman).
If I was a member of the Minneapolis City Council such as Don Samuels (whom Hoff boasts as his "friend"), I would do a little more research into the background of John Hoff.

John commented in a video clip in the trailer for the upcoming documentary movie, Johnny Northside Movie, that his father told him to stay close to his son. That advice has taken John to live in Seattle, Washington, Grand Forks, North Dakota and to his current home of Minneapolis. I wish John's ex-wife (Tina) would relocate again. It would be interesting to see if John could give up his celebrity status by moving to stay close to his son.
The people of Minneapolis would only be so lucky.

Northside activist John Hoff aka Johnny Northside, has offended people and talked "trash" everywhere he has been. Recent posts have offered insight into his past and those past antics strongly suggest what is to come in north Minneapolis.
Click on the link at the end of this post to read an interview the Seattle Times published with John Hoff's first publisher, Michael Hoy of Loompanics in 1999.
Hoy mentioned the novel Hoff had written (unknown if it was actually published) and said,

"Like many first novels, it is partly autobiographical. Amid a plot about war, romance, politics and "electoral sabotage"

The author of the interview Richard Seven, had this to say about John Hoffman (Hoff is his legal name):

Hoffman, who lives in a University District apartment, is an activist for the homeless and other grassroots causes and uses his rummaging skills to forage through public records and take on city hall.

People ask me why I keep looking for info on John Hoff and I simply tell them to read some of the stuff I have found on him. The majority of them can't believe that Johnny Northside is the same person and they wonder how long it will take until he does the same thing in north Minneapolis.
